Strengthening the UK’s Cyber Future: A Ministerial Visit to The PureCyber HQ
We were delighted to welcome The Rt Hon Pat McFadden MP, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Minister for Intergovernmental Relations, to PureCyber’s Cardiff headquarters this week for a visit that underscored the UK’s growing emphasis on cyber security and digital resilience.
The Minister’s visit provided an opportunity to showcase the depth and breadth of our work in supporting organisations across sectors with tailored, proactive cyber solutions. Both Minister McFadden and our CEO, Damon Rands took the opportunity to discuss the crucial role cyber security plays in securing the nation’s supply chains, as well as taking the opportunity to highlight how innovative, accessible and affordable cyber services can make a difference to businesses that don’t always have in-house cyber capabilities.
“One of the biggest challenges we face is helping businesses understand why they need to take responsibility for their own cyber self-defence. Much like we rely on the police and armed forces for physical protection, there is still a gap when it comes to defending ourselves in the digital world” ~ Damon Rands, PureCyber
During a tour of our Security Operations Centre (SOC), Chief Defensive Security Officer, Matthew Jones, gave a first-hand insight into the role PureCyber plays in protecting both businesses and public institutions from the increasing complexity of cyber threats.
demonstrating some of the industry leading technologies and methods employed by our defensive security team to combat the ever-evolving threat landscape.
Two members of our graduate team, Ellie and Ioan, were lucky enough to have a conversation with Minster McFadden, where they shared their unique paths into the cyber security industry - a testament to the power of early-career support and the importance of accessible entry points for new talent. Their stories reflected the diversity of backgrounds and skill sets that continue to enrich the sector and drive innovation.
“Whether through traditional education, retraining routes, or community pathways, we must open doors to ensure talent isn’t missed just because it hasn’t followed a standard route” ~ Damon Rands, PureCyber
The visit facilitated meaningful dialogue on national cyber priorities, including the urgent need to expand the UK’s cyber skills base, strengthen collaboration between government and industry, and build greater resilience into the digital fabric of our society. It was an excellent opportunity to discuss how PureCyber is contributing to these objectives - not just through technology, but through sustained investment in people and partnerships.
As a company deeply committed to nurturing talent and advancing cyber security excellence, we were proud to demonstrate how our values align with the government’s ambitions. From supporting SMEs and public sector organisations to cultivating the next generation of cyber professionals - PureCyber remains at the forefront of securing the UK's digital future.
We extend our sincere thanks to Minister McFadden and his team for their visit and for recognising the vital role that cyber security firms like PureCyber play in shaping a safer, more resilient digital landscape.
